PAK v AFG, ODI Series in Sri Lanka— Afghanistan Will Battle it Out Against Pakistan in 3 ODIs

First ODI to be played in Hambantota on August 22

Colombo, August 10: Pakistan and Afghanistan will feature in a bilateral 3-match ODI series in Sri Lanka just ahead of the forthcoming Asia Cup due in September this year.

Both teams will play three ODIs with matches scheduled for August 22, August 24 and August 26. The first two matches will be played in Hambantota while the third ODI is scheduled in Colombo.

This series will pave the way for both teams to select their best 15-man squad for the upcoming Asia Cup and the World Cup marquee events.

Pakistan chief selector announced an 18-member squad for the Afghanistan series that will be trimmed to 17-member squad for the Asia Cup.

Pakistan have a very balanced side with strong batters (Babar Azam, Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Saud Shakeel, Tayyab Tahir, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Haris), good all-rounders (Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Usama Mir, Wasim Jr.) and world class bowling (Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf)
