Haryana’s Farmer Unions Demand Cow Terrorist Monu Manesar’s Arrest

Chandigarh, 11 August: In the aftermath of communal clashes in the Nuh area in Haryana, several Khap Panchayats and farmer unions have made passionate appeals for peace and demanded immediate arrest of notorious cow terrorist and vigilante Monu Manesar.

Manesar, a Bajrang Dal leader who has earned notoriety for his violent actions and anti-Muslim hate speech, is wanted for his role in the killing of two Muslim men earlier this year.

At least six persons were killed in violent clashes that broke out in Nuh on 31 July, when a provocative procession carried out by the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists was allegedly attacked by an unidentified mob. The dead included two home guards and a Muslim cleric who had appealed for peace and communal harmony.

Nuh is a Muslim-majority area in Haryana.

In a purported video, Manesar and his associates had warned Muslims that he would attend the religious procession in Nuh. This provocative video allegedly sparked the communal clashes in the area which also spilled over to Gurugram and several other areas where shops and complexes owned by Muslims were torched and vehicles and properties damaged.
