Rahul Dravid is not Too Concerned About Gill’s Poor Run of Form
July 30, Bridgetown: India coach Rahul Dravid is not bothered about the lack of form of star opening batter Shubman Gill.
Dravid said that Gill’s poor run of form on the tour of West Indies is not something that concerned him too much.
Gill failed to make any impact in the recently concluded 2-match Test series and also failed to score runs in the first two ODIs against West Indies. However, the batter has been in terrific form in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) in India. In the 2023 IPL season, Gill amassed 890 runs in 17 games to earn Orange Cap for being the highest run-getter of the cash rich tournament.
Gill has a double hundred in the ODI format.
In the ODIs and Tests, Gill is seen as an ideal player-for-player replacement for Virat Kohli once the latter calls it quits.
Meanwhile, Dravid said that he wouldn’t criticise players of Gill’s quality on game-to-game basis.
