The Gangoo-Kaul couple is accused of duping people, promising jobs and choice postings
Srinagar, August 08: The duo comprising Manmohan Gangoo, a suspended Head Constable, and Ayoush Kaul on Monday were apprehended by the law enforcement agency on charges of impersonating as Indian Administrative Service and Indian Police Service officers. The duo stands accused of duping people, promising them jobs and choice transfers.
Suspended head constable Manmohan Gangoo and his spouse, Ayoush Kaul, were arrested by a police team after a written complaint was registered against them, alleging the couple’s involvement in cheating, duping and other fraudulent activities. Gangoo and Kaul are accused of impersonating themselves as IPS and IAS officers, a statement issued by a police spokesperson said.
“They (Manmohan Gangoo and Ayoush Kaul) have cheated a number of people on the pretext of giving them jobs etcâ€, the statement added.
Meanwhile, a First Information Report (FIR) vide number 73/23 under Sections 419, 420, 468, 471, 170, and 467 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the couple.
According to details, Gangoo was posing as an IPS officer and his partner, Ayoush Kaul, impersonating as an IAS officer.
Both are residents of the Barnai area of Jammu but were currently putting up in Srinagar’s uptown Baghat area.
