Srinagar, Sep 11: After spending five years in Tihar Jail, North Kashmir MP Engineer Rashid returned to Srinagar on Thursday. He was released on interim bail by a Delhi court in a terror funding case.
Upon arrival, Rashid bowed down, kissed the road, and expressed his gratitude to God, visibly emotional as he broke down.
Speaking to reporters, Rashid stated that his struggle is much larger than those of political leaders Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.
He emphasized that he is fighting for self-respect and peace with dignity. Rashid also mentioned that the people of North Kashmir had rejected Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Naya Kashmir” narrative during the June Lok Sabha elections.
Rashid then proceeded to Baramulla district, where he addresses gathering. He has been granted interim bail until October 2.
