ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023– India-Pakistan A Teams Mega Clash in Coveted Final in Colombo

Of Eight participating teams, India and Pakistan seal berth in ACC Emerging Asia Cup Finals

Colombo, July 23: A high voltage encounter between Pakistan Shaheens and India A teams will begin Sunday at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium.

In the tournament eight teams clashed with each other but only India and Pakistan A teams qualified for the finals as Sri Lanka A and Bangladesh A teams were eliminated in the semifinals’ stage. The other participants like Afghanistan A, Nepal A, UAE A and Oman A teams failed to make a mark in the coveted competition.

The Pakistan Shaheens are led by swashbuckling wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Haris while Yash Dhull is captaining India A side. Pakistan Shaheens’ squad has players like Mohammad Haris, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Wasim, Shahnawaz Dahani, Sahibzada Farhan, Tayyab Tahir and Arshad Iqbal who have international experience.

India A squad too is very strong with players such as Abhishek Sharma, Riyag Parag, Sai Sudarshan, Yash Dhull and Prabhsimran Singh who have substantial IPL experience.

Eight participating teams were divided into Group A—Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A and Oman A— and Group B comprising Pakistan Shaheens, India A, Nepal A and UAE A.

India A topped Group B with six points by winning all three games while Pakistan Shaheens finished second in the same group with four points. Both qualified for the semifinals.

In Group A, Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A and Afghanistan A teams finished with four points but Afghanistan missed out because of low net run rate.

Pakistan Shaheens beat hosts Sri Lanka A by 60 runs in the first semifinals while India A beat Bangladesh A by 51 runs in the second semifinals.
