Jammu, May 5: Sunny Sharma, a resident of Rajouri and the son of a police officer, has been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) for his alleged involvement in cases of theft and drug peddling in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.
Officials said Sunny Sharma hails from the Jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri, and the son of an assistant-sub inspector of Jammu and Kashmir police.
The accused has been described as a serial and repeat offender, often involved in theft and drug peddling cases. According to officials, Sharma posed a threat to peace and order.
District Magistrate issued Sharma’s detention under the stringent PSA.
Officials said Sharma refused to mend his ways or change his behaviour in spite of being booked in several FIRs and arrested by police in these cases.
There are at least 12 cases pending against the accused in various police stations.
