Rawalpindi, April 29: Pakistan opening batter Fakhar Zaman has become his country’s fourth batter to score three consecutive hundreds in ODIs, and is now Asia’s fastest batter to cross the 3,000-run mark.
In the second ODI of the ongoing 5-match series against New Zealand, Zaman achieved the rare feat. In his 67th ODI innings, the Pakistani batter crossed the 3,000-run mark.
Zaman completed 3,000 one-day international (ODI) runs Saturday as he batted at the Pindi Cricket Stadium against New Zealand.
Before Zaman, West Indies Shai Hope smashed 3,000 ODI runs in the same number of innings. South Africa’s Hashim Amla holds the record of achieving the feat fastest in 57 innings.
His best scores in ODIs include 210* against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo and 193 against South Africa in Johannesburg.
