Mehbooba to contest from Anantnag-Rajouri, Parra and Mir Announced For Srinagar and Baramulla

Srinagar: People’s Democratic Party president and Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will contest the Lok Sabha polls from the Anantnag-Rajouri seat against National Confernce’s influential Gujjar leader Mian Altaf.

Newly formed parties like, J&K Apni Party led by Altaf Bukhari has fielded Zaffar Iqbal Manhas and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) has named Ghulam Nabi Azad for Anantnag-Rajouri seat.

PDP’s youth President and former Secretary, J&K sports Council President Waheed Parra will contest the polls from Srinagar and former Rajya Sabha Member Fayaz Mir from Baramulla.

Party’s Parliamentary Board Chairman Sartaj Madani in a press conference at party headquarters’ here in Srinagar made the nomination public. He said the decision has been taken after thorough consultations with senior leaders of the party.

However, BJP has not announced its candidate for any seats in the Kashmir region so far.
