New Delhi, April 21: Central Bureau of Investigation—India’s apex investigating agency— has summoned Jammu and Kashmir’s former Governor Satya Pal Malik in connection with a case of Reliance insurance on April 28.
Maverick Malik has served as BJP-appointed governor in four Indian states. Malik recently made many startling revelations about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach to corruption and the 2019 Lethpora Pulwama attack in two separate interviews.
According to Malik, he will be going to the CBI’s office in New Delhi to answer all questions.
Controversial Malik said in his recent interviews that he was asked by PM Narendra Modi and NSA Ajit Doval to keep mum on the Pulwama attack. According to Malik, the attack was then politicised and used for electoral dividends by the BJP in 2019.
According to media reports, Malik has confirmed that CBI has asked him to come to their Delhi office to give clarification regarding the alleged insurance scam in J&K on 27th or 28th April.
Meanwhile, Reliance Insurance scheme was allegedly being pushed by the RSS and BJP leader Ram Madhav. Malik said that he faced pressure to pass the scheme but refused to comply. This, according to Malik, happened while he was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ram Madhav has also sent a legal notice to Malik.
