IPL 2023: DC’s ‘Salt N Pepper’ Punish RCB in PowerPlay, Comfortably Chase 183 by 7 Wickets

Delhi, May 6: Phil Salt and David Warner made an aggressive beginning in pursuit of a tough chase (183) against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a day-night game in Delhi on Saturday.

Salt and David Warner forged a 60-run partnership in 5.1 overs, after which Mitchell Marsh joined the party to take the score to 119 in the 11th over.

After Marsh fell to Harshal Patel, Salt continued to make merry and amass runs with another talented batter Rilee Rossouw. Salt made 87 in just 45 balls, his innings was laced with six sixes and eight fours.

Karn Sharma bowled him as he was 13 runs away from his first IPL century. Rossouw remained unbeaten on 35* in 22 balls.

Earlier, batting first, RCB made 181/4 in their allocated 20 overs. Virat Kohli made sluggish 55 in 46 balls on a good batting surface in Delhi. Mahipal Lomror made 54 in 29 balls.
Marsh took two wickets.
