New York, May 12: In yet another dramatic twist, Elon Musk has said he will step down as Twitter CEO as he has identified the new leader to do the job.
Reportedly, NBCUniversal executive Linda Yaccarino is in talks to become Twitter’s news chief executive officer. According to the Wall Street Journal, Elon Musk has found a new leader for the microblogging site and he will subsequently shift into a new role as chief technologist.
Musk, on his part, on Thursday tweeted the company’s new CEO will start working in about six weeks, without naming the individual.
Yaccarino, who is chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal Media, is set to take over as CEO of Twitter.
Though she didn’t respond to an email seeking comment on her possible new role.
As CEO, Musk courted many controversies first by making blue tick a paid service and subsequently removing blue ticks of major politicians, sports personalities and celebrities alike.
