Delhi’s Former Deputy CM Sisodia Named as Accused in Infamous Liquor Case

New Delhi, April 25: Problems for Manish Sisodia, former Deputy Chief Minister of New Delhi, have mounted as he has been named in the first information report (FIR) in the much publicised liquor case.

Sisodia has been named as an accused in a chargesheet filed in the Delhi liquor policy case, media reports said.

In this regard, the supplementary chargesheet filed on April 25 also names Butchi Babu, the former auditor of Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha, Arjun Pandey and Amandeep Dhal.

Delhi-based media channels reported that the agency has kept further investigation open on the role of other accused in the case.

Last week, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was summoned and questioned as a witness in the case. Reports said that Kejriwal was grilled for nine hours by the CBI.

BRS leader Ms Kavitha, who is also the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has also been questioned in the case.

The Aam Aadmi Party has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misusing political power to harass political opponents, a charge that the ruling party denies.
