Srinagar, May 8: Predicting that at least four districts of Jammu and Kashmir could witness avalanches, the authorities on Monday issued an avalanche alert in Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Baramulla.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA), the avalanche alert will remain valid until next 24 hours.
Weathermen predicted that avalanches could trigger in areas 3000-3500 metres above sea level in the four districts.
Local residents in avalanche prone areas in the four districts have been asked to take appropriate preventive measures and stay indoors as much as possible.
