Gogoi says Modi silent on China, Manipur, Delhi Riots & More

New Delhi, August 09: Two-term Member of Indian Parliament and Leader of Lok Sabha for the Congress Party, Gaurav Gogoi, launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his “silence” over the “Delhi riots, Manipur violence, Covid19 deaths and China” and several other issues such as his “relationship with business tycoon Adani” etc.

Speaking in the Indian parliament, Gogoi accused Modi of maintaining silence over important matters and that his party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would make any compromise on “national security” to garner votes and hanker after power.

In a fiery speech delivered on the floor of the parliament, Gogoi accused the BJP of garnering support from a proscribed “terrorist organisation in Manipur” to win elections in the northeastern state.

“This is their nationalism and patriotism that they are sacrificing national interest for vote bank politics,” Gogoi said amid thunderous applause from the benches.

Accusing Modi of taking a “vow of silence” on sensitive issues like violence in Manipur and Chinese incursions in the Ladakh region, the Congress leader on August 8 said that the opposition had no option than to bring the no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha to make the PM speak on all important matters inside the parliament.
