Srinagar, May 6: In a tragic incident, four persons lost their lives on Saturday in cloud burst and lightning strikes at two separate locations in the Kashmir Valley, officials said.
The deceased included a couple, the officials added.
The first incident of cloudburst occurred at Bujbagh area of Pampore in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday afternoon. In this incident, according to a senior police officer, two persons identified as Hilal Ahmed Hanji (25) and his spouse Rozia Jan (25) were killed.
In another incident, two persons lost their lives when lightning struck them at a high-altitude meadow in Mujpathri area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented rains in April and May. The vagaries of weather continue to inflict misery on the people. As a result of climate change, a freakish weather prevails in the Valley.
